Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Richard “Rick” Newman, CPA knew early in life that he would pursue a career in finance and accounting, given his interest in investing and taxation. His career path has included working in public accounting and as a controller for real estate developers, syndicators, and property managers with concentrations in hospitality, multifamily and office properties. Rick currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Committee for Terra Vista Management.
In addition to prime responsibilities including financing, taxation oversight, budgeting, acquisition analysis, investor correspondence, treasury functions and risk management, Rick enjoys property level involvement in streamlining processes, enhancing revenue and controlling expenses, and managing large projects which lean on his highly organized manner and ability to pull people together to achieve common goals in a timely manner. He maintains relationships with the company’s accountants, attorneys, bankers, and brokers. Over the course of his career, Rick has overseen more than $250 million in financing activity.
Rick is a CPA licensed in California (inactive) and also has a California Real Estate Brokers license. Rick lives with his wife in Cardiff, California and has two grown sons. He enjoys family, travel, fitness, surfing, and good friends.
